We got hitched and took our own wedding photos! It ended up being the perfectly understated day filled with laughter, charm, elegance and lightheartedness – all which reflects our personality. We wanted something simple, small and stress free and that’s exactly what it was!
Everything came together very naturally, from the dress that was buried in a rack full of undesired and under-appreciated dresses at Nordstrom Rack, to the flowers found a couple days before at Whole Foods, to the cheap wireless trigger for our camera that we randomly found at Target for $10 (that probably should have exploded in our hands, but worked flawlessly). Everything just fell into place..well of course there was one small exception – Jimmy’s hair, which just kinda did whatever it wanted.
The timing of the ceremony also worked perfectly in our favor because after a quick coffee break, the lighting was absolutely perfect at Pullen Park where we took the majority of our photos using a tripod and trigger (that you can see Jimmy holding at times).
They say that life is about the journey, not the destination and from the good days to the bad days, we are absolutely loving every moment of being married to each other.
Many thanks to Gabrielle Duvall, BFF and photographer for half of the day.
