We are an editorial-style, wedding photography team with a keen eye for aesthetics and passion for capturing meaningful and timeless images. Our humble and quirky personality, along with our budget conscious investment options, makes us fun and practical to work with. We only have two hands, but during your wedding day you will think we had more because we’ve done this before and we know how weddings work. Not only are we here to capture your big day, we’re also here to be your wedding sidekick! We make sure every button is done (that should be done), wedding bands are in the right order, that you are looking your best and above all, we help you stay calm and sane!
We got married at the Wake County Courthouse on New Year’s Eve 2014 and yes, we took our own wedding photos! In 2016, little Eleanor came into the world and forever changed our lives! She brings so much joy to the people around her, I never knew such a little person can be such a huge ray of light! For our wedding, the photography was the most important element. I wanted a photographer who was easy going, organized, creative, fun, inexpensive, and would capture the essence of our wedding day on film. Mae and Jimmy encompass all of these traits and more!
I can honestly say they made our wedding day so fun and smiling for the camera seemed natural! Mae’s attention to detail was flawless and her sweet spirit is both incredibly professional and very engaging. She arrived ahead of schedule and stayed longer than she had to, making sure that every part of the day was on film. She also allowed us to create our own poses but offered some much needed assistance when needed! After the wedding, my matron of honor said she wished she had hired Mae for her own wedding photography!
And Jimmy was great with the groom and “men” pictures. Although the guys weren’t too keen on having their own photographer, Jimmy’s laid back personality brought out the best in my husband and our groomsmen.

I can not say enough good things about Mae and Jimmy and how much they helped to make our wedding a very special and memorable occasion. Jennifer first came across Mae almost a whole year before our wedding and after reviewing her portfolio told me that she was certain she was the one she wanted to have shoot our wedding. That is even more impressive once you factor in that Jenn looked at enough photographers in NC that she is pretty much a walking database now.
The day of the wedding left Jenn and I both a bit of a nervous wreck. We had a lot to get done and a fairly strict time frame to work within. I’m sure she will also attest that as soon as Mae and Jimmy arrived everything seemed to just fall into place. Not only did they do an awesome job with photography (as you can clearly see), but they brought a calming and fun presence that I think really helped Jenn and I relax.
Our photo-shoot with Mae was a culmination of a year-long roller coaster ride as far as trying to get our wedding planned, but in the end our hard work and patience was rewarded with a set of beautiful pictures that I do believe we’ll be going back to view with great pleasure quite often over what we both hope to be a marriage that sees us through for the rest of our lives.
Mae’s enthusiasm and love for what she does comes through in her work. We always felt like she genuinely cared about our day and it wasn’t just some other job. She has a great attention to detail and her level of helpfulness and patience is a real dream for folks like us who had absolutely no experience having professional pictures taken.
So, for quickly replying back to near-panicky texts, scouting out beautiful shooting locations, hooking us up with an umbrella when we foolishly left ours at home, taking such emotionally moving pictures, and the billion other little things that Mae and Jimmy did for us … well I don’t think we can thank them enough or say enough good things.
